It doesn’t matter how wealthy a country or region is, there are always going to be issues that can be resolved by the right organization and approach.
For example, we know gang prey on young girls. Gangs do this as girls are statistically less likely to be stopped and searched by the police looking for drugs. Girls as young as 12 become trophies for gang leaders. Many suffer sexual abuse.
UK Government statistics put the number of girls involved in gangs as high as 40,000 in England. We work with government, charities and donors to find lasting solutions to inner city gang membership and violence towards girls.
What we have found is that a coordinated approach is far more effective than just funding small local groups all doing their own thing. Many charities advocate sports activities. That may help boost confidence, but that rarely improves educational attainment, particularly in essential STEM subjects.
